  • Heading into her 12th season at Florida State, Alameda has built the FSU softball program into one of the nation’s elite:
    • 2018 National Champs!
    • A berth to the WCWS 3 times in the last 5 seasons (2014, 2016, 2018), including a semifinals appearance in 2016.
    • 7 consecutive trips to the NCAA Super Regionals.
    • 6 straight ACC regular season championships and 6 straight conference tournament championships.
  • In 2018, Alameda and her staff were named the 2018 NFCA National Coaching Staff of the Year. FSU had a 52-18 record in 2018, the most wins in a single season under Alameda. Three Seminoles were named NFCA All-American, and Jessie Warren and Kylee Hanson were named ACC Player and Pitcher of the Year, respectively.
  • In 2017, Florida State made program history with their first No. 1 national ranking, and their 5th straight appearance in the NCAA Super Regionals. They also had 4 All-American selections, with 2 players named 1st-team, and 1 each 2nd and 3rd team.
  • Alameda also earned ACC Coach of the Year for the 5th straight season in 2017, while Jessica Warren was named ACC Player of the Year and Jessica Burroughs earned ACC Pitcher of the Year. FSU

Lonni Alameda – 2017

  • Heading into her 9th season as the head coach of the Florida State softball program, Lonni Alameda has guided the Seminoles back into one of the nation’s best teams:
    • Seminoles have returned to the WCWS twice in the last 3 seasons (2014 and 2016), including a WCWS semifinals appearance in 2016
    • 4 consecutive ACC regular season titles
    • 3 straight ACC Tournament titles and 14 ACC Championships
  • Alameda earned ACC Coach of the Year for the 4th straight season in 2016, while Jessica Burroughs and Alex Powers earned ACC Pitcher and Player of the Year honors, respectively. FSU set an ACC record with six members on the All-ACC First Team.
  • Alameda has coached numerous pitching standouts, including Burroughs and 2015 USA Softball National Player of the Year and 2-time ACC Pitcher of the Year Lacey Waldrop.
  • In 2012, the FSU pitchers finished in the Top 30 nationally in earned run average, making FSU one of just 5 programs to have multiple pitchers in the top 30. As a unit, the 2012 Seminoles finished 10th in the country with a 1.53 team ERA.
  • Alameda came to FSU from UNLV, where she spent 5 seasons reviving the Rebels’ program. Prior to coaching at UNLV, Alameda was the assistant coach at Stanford University, where she helped guide the Cardinal to 6 straight NCAA Regional appearances. She oversaw the pitching staff which produced 3 All-Americans: Becky Blevins, Marcy Crouch and Dana Sorenson.
  • Alameda also has coached on the international level, as Assistant Coach for the Canadian National Team from 2004-2008. She spent the summer of 2008 coaching the Canadian Olympic Team which ended its quest for the gold with a 4th-place finish at the Beijing Olympic Games.
